lV  SHARP

Laura Varker, aka LV Sharp, was born on April 5th- 1990 in Phoenix, Arizona. Her Sicilian father and Irish and Scottish mother were both from the Midwest. With LV's parents being a hard working couple, she spent most of her time with a local babysitter who cared for most of the neighborhood kids. From ages 2 through 8, she would grow up in the sitters care and bond with other children. Although She had only one biological sibling, LV felt a connection to many of the kids at the sitter, growing up feeling part of a large family. Her parents were big fans of music, and she grew up learning to love many genres! At a very early age, she was dancing and singing to the likes of The Beatles, Beach Boys, ACDC, and more. LV Sharp grew to be really fond of Alanis Morissette, noting her boldness and raw talent. She felt she could relate to Alanis and admired the way she wrote, sang, and performed with no boundaries.

LV Sharp  joined her school choir in elementary, began classical and private vocal training at age 11, piano lessons for 3 years, and continued to participate in school choir until college level. By the age of 12 she was writing her own songs, and at 14 years old  LV Sharp recorded her first single at a local recording studio.

Although music was loved by her family, LV Sharp's parents somehow hoped she would grow out of this “love of music” phase, and go to college like her older sister. LV felt her parents did not support her decision to pursue music, but this did not stop her drive! Her parents helped pay for her vocal lessons, but made it clear that was it and urged her to go to college. She entered college, but just couldn’t deny her passion for music and desire to be an artist. After serious thought, LV Sharp dropped out of Arizona State University and began living the struggle as a starving but aspiring young artist.

Edgy and rebellious, LV Sharp is best described as a small frame with a huge but angelic voice! She loves to write and perform songs on any topic with no limits. Her music expresses it all through her lyrics: love, life, struggles, joy, pain, and fun. Her vocal influences includes, Alanis Morissette, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Kim Burrell.

LV Sharp is currently working on her solo project. She is recording with various songwriters and Grammy award winning music producers.
